CannPrescribe exists to raise the standard of clinical recruitment within the UK medical cannabis sector.
As medical cannabis has become an increasingly established part of UK healthcare, clinics face a growing challenge: sourcing clinicians who not only meet regulatory requirements, but who also possess the clinical confidence, governance awareness and practical experience needed to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

CannPrescribe was created to bridge this gap. We are the UK’s only recruitment agency dedicated exclusively to connecting medical cannabis clinics with highly qualified, clinic-ready prescribers. Our focus is on quality, compliance and continuity - supporting clinics and clinicians to operate safely, professionally and with confidence in a highly regulated clinical environment.

We work closely with both clinics and clinicians to ensure placements are not only operationally efficient, but clinically appropriate, ethically sound and aligned with best practice. From comprehensive training and vetting through to ongoing professional support, our approach is designed to strengthen the clinical foundations of UK medical cannabis services.
Founded by Clinical Experience
CannPrescribe was founded by Dr David Tang, a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with over five years’ experience working within the UK medical cannabis sector.

Dr Tang graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ in 2007 and became a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in 2021. His clinical career has included work with the military and elite sports teams, alongside a longstanding focus on patients whose needs are not adequately met by conventional treatment pathways.

Over recent years, Dr Tang has worked across multiple UK medical cannabis clinics, prescribing cannabis-based medicinal products for patients with musculoskeletal and chronic conditions that have proven resistant to standard treatments. Through this work, he gained a first-hand understanding of both the potential of medical cannabis - and the operational challenges faced by clinics operating largely through remote models of care.
As the sector expanded rapidly, Dr Tang observed a growing mismatch between the number of clinics entering the market and the availability of clinicians with the specialist knowledge, governance awareness and clinical confidence required to prescribe safely and consistently. CannPrescribe was founded in response to this need - to establish a reliable, clinically informed recruitment pathway that prioritises patient safety, regulatory compliance and professional standards.
